Bruce “Looselip”Pinson
Bruce is a gifted poet, musician, and long-time Cowboy Poets of Idaho member. His love of poetry began as a result of his mother and sisters tell- ing him nursery rhymes when he was young. He says he recited poetry for two reasons: one, because the car didn’t have a radio, and two, because he couldn’t sing so well! He began playing the harmonica in high school where he got the nickname “looselip.” Whitey, the stuffed teddy-bear, is Bruce’s side-kick and often a principle character in Pinson’s poetry. Bruce actively and capably promotes cow- boy poetry in a variety of venues.
I grew up on a ranch in Eastern Oregon.
As a long teenager I traveled to Arizona where I worked on ranches and even tried dude ranching.
I also shoed and trained horses and mules.
I later migrated to Northern California where I did a time packing in the Sierra Mountains and later roamed through Montana for a spell.
Now, 73 seasons later I seem to have settled in Western Idaho and started spinning some of my experiences in the form of cowboy poetry.
